The Ever-Changing Face of Medicine

Who knew that building your resume would be so time consuming? Last Friday, my resume was due, and I assumed that it would not take me very long, well, because I thought that I just had to compile all of my volunteering and achievements onto a sheet of paper. Once I got started, however, it turned out that looking at specific details like color pairings and font size took a while. I was able to get it done, and I was very pleased with it in the end. Through this process, I realized the importance of a professional and outside eye on my work because by using inputs from Coach Goff, my ISM teacher, and my dad, I was able to put together something that I was proud of.
Additionally, a topic I delved into that was relatively uncharted for me was artificial intelligence. We all know that our present and future is and will be heavily supported by technology, so I decided to pick an article that brought together an upcoming hot topic in the world and medicine. I was especially surprised when I found out that a man was able to move his arm after being paralyzed through figuring out the neuron patterns in the arm and programming them into a computer. I am excited for what the future holds and how the medical field progresses with the help of technology.
This week, I have to submit an original work topic proposal, and I am unsure of what I will choose, so I need to spend time making sure I chose a topic that I will enjoy doing a project on. As this week goes on and that task remains upon me, I am sure that I will expose myself to information unknown to me, so I’m especially looking forward to that.
Until next time,
Afifa
