Over the past week, I have made significant progress on my original work. Last week, I had mentioned that I was facing some challenges because of my gaps in knowledge. To combat that, I decided to watch a workshop video published by the National Institute of Health on traumatic brain injuries, particularly in women. The video is pretty long, about 7 hours, so I am planning on finishing it up this week. Despite the workshop focusing on women, it has given me a better idea of what different symptoms can present, the types of complications that can arise, and the causes of many of those complications and effects.
Also, this week I plan to have my third interview, and I am in the process of scheduling a fourth one for late this week or early next week. Soon, I will be able to choose a mentor, and I am excited to be able to finally do this. I do think that I have a good pool of candidates, but I think that I will try to get a few more interviews to broaden my options.
We also have our first research speech this week, which is supposed to display all the progress I have made so far. I am excited but nervous about this at the same time because this will be the first time l actually will be talking about my work collectively, but I think that this will be good for me to see where I am on my journey.
See you next week,
Afifa
